I could totally get behind Emma/Namor, especially if Scott has a thing with Storm (did that ever happen? There was some cover to Astonishing, but I never really found out). I loved Emma/Scott, but it’s been so boring for a long while. Emma has grown boring, sadly, and I believe it’s because she’s been reduced to being Scott’s woman and telepathic phone. I love the Emma/Namor chemistry and I like the way Namor treats Emma, in a way Scott never has. There’s always been the sense that Emma feels for Scott more than he does for her (he’s obviously always going to want Jean), and I would like to see Emma with someone who loves her and only her. I think Namor could be the man for her, even if she’s in love with Scott Summers. People grow apart, and after everything Emma and Scott have been through together, I find it believable that they’d just fall out of love with one another.
And lastly, I /hate/ what’s happened to Kitty and Colossus. I think the idea of breaking them up is interesting, but the way it was handled was horrible. They made Kitty look like such a hypocrite. She left him because he was willing to die for her, and sacrifice his life? Um, Kitty literally /just/ returned from doing the /same/ things. Did the writers just forget that?! Kitty Pryde is a fantastic character, but the way she was portrayed here was just… not her. She cared for Peter deeply, and she wouldn’t just up and leave him because he decided to risk his life. I understand the reasoning, but it’s not something /Kitty/ would do, especially with all she’s just experienced and gone through herself. Their breakup was awful, though I applaud the writers for trying to freshen things up and go in a new direction. I just think it could have been handled better, and given a better reason behind it happening.
